Big Blow

I don't know exactly how this works. I saved my draft to finish it later, but I can't figure out how to do this, so if you get it twice.....someone tell me how to do it.

The school district turned down the charter school I was working on. We now have to apply to the State Charter School Commission. That's ok, but this morning the director of the agency who is starting the charter school, called me and told me there is no more money in the budget to pay any salaries. If people work on it, they have to do it free. I was making an average of $2,000 a month at the charter school. This means that instead of making $3,500 a less, we will make $5,500 a month less. It also means that Mike's salary is not enough to pay the bills.

I don't know what we are going to do, but I feel this is another one of those faith/growing experiences. Why it happened all at once, I don't know, but I have to believe the Lord is aware of us and that he has a plan. Please pray for us that Noah's benefits will be approved soon so we will be able to afford to keep our home and pay the lights and water.

In the meantime, we are enjoying Jon and Sarah's visit. Emma is a doll and we are happy to have them all here. Mike will be helping them move.

Caleb moves into his new apartment this weekend. He has been working hard to get it painted and ready to move into. He is very happy with it. We are happy for him.

Mike has been cutting and hauling wood each day after school. Someone gave him two huge trees that fell this past spring if he would cut them up and haul them away. We are very happy to have the wood to heat our house with this winter.

My foot surgery went well, although it is very painful.

Abby's debate tournament went very well, even though they didn't make it to finals. She had a good time. I am really glad to see her so involved with good things and good friends.

Noah is still working at DI. He has not been able to go to the Developmental Therapy agency because he still has no benefits.

It is amazing to me how quickly life changes. I continue to be very grateful we didn't increase our lifestyle to include my income. I am thankful to be out of debt, (Except for the house- and I really wish it was paid off.) I have a great testimony of following the prophet.

May this be a wonderful holiday season for everyone, no matter your circumstances. We all are blessed more than we will ever know.

I know things will work out--not that those are the words ANYONE ever wants to hear, but it is true. Know we are thinking of you and wish we could be there to help things be better. LOVE YOU!

Oh Annette, you are definitly in our prayers and we hope all goes well. Sometimes I wish we could see around the bend, but we are required instead to walk by faith. I love you.

I'm sure you must feel like EVERYTHING is happening to YOU...and it seems so to me too! I am sorry about the current state of life, but agree with Rachel, and my mom. Things WILL get better, and have faith, and you're in our prayers, too! We love you and think of you often!
