Thoughts and Thanks

For those of you who haven't heard, (probably only my children), Aunt Alice passed away. I am leaving to go to her funeral Monday. The funeral is Tuesday. While we will miss her, she has been through a lot the past few months and it is a blessing for her that she has gone to a better place. I loved Aunt Alice very much and will miss her. I hope the funeral is a celebration of the life she led.

I am looking forward to visiting with my cousins and family. While funerals are often sad times, it's a joy seeing loved ones you haven't seen for a long time. The Packards are the ones we were closest to as we were growing up. My brothers and sisters are going to the funeral also, except LaNita and maybe Allen. It will be great to see them all.

Take advantage now to develop and grow in relationships with those you love. They won't always be here. We often get busy and don't take the time to call, visit or write the people we love. We always assume they will always be here. When someone dies, it's a reminder that we only have so much time and it can be over in a flash. Don't live with regrets that you didn't say the things you felt in your heart, or take that extra few minutes to stop and make a visit or phone call.

I love you all very much. I am thankful for the memories I have with each of you. I am very thankful for the relationships I have with each of my children. We continue to develop those relationships across many miles. Each of my children bring a special quality to my life and teach my so much. I have been really blessed to know some of my neices and nephews in close ways. Many of you have stayed with me for the summer or spent other times visiting. I even cut the cord when Oren was born! I would do anything for any of you. I consider each of you a friend. You all know I have had a hard time the past year and many of you have extended your love through phone calls, emails, and in person. I have a wonderful family and extended family!

I am really thankful for blogging. I feel your love and support through your comments. I love how you each have such positive comments on all the blogs. What a wonderful way to continue relationships and get to know each other in personal ways. Technology is amazing!

Thanks for letting us know. How very sad--even knowing she is in a good place doesn't always make it EASIER. I hope you enjoy your trip to see everyone at the funeral.

And thanks for your thoughts....love you!

Mom called me about Aunt Alice. I'm glad you get to go down to be with her family and your own. And thanks for reminding me what a treasure we have here in our blogging group-that we can become closer even with being far away, and do it with out wasting paper or stamps or killing our phone bills!

I'm glad you're able to go to the funeral and be with family. It really is a sad/happy time. She will definitely be in a better place and be more comfortable.
I'm glad you're keeping up on the blog. I love being able to keep in touch with everyone this way.

Oren turned 6 this week, and I was thinking about the day he was born. I am so glad that you were able to be there. Mark's mom is awesome, but I have known you my whole life! Thank you for being there for me and with me.

I too enjoy this blogging back and forth, getting to know those I wouldn't be able to otherwise, and growing closer to those I allready know!

Thank you for sharing your thoughts. You have a way of saying things in just the right way. The passing of Aunt Alice was bittersweet, since she was suffering so, but I'm so grateful for the knowledge that we'll see our loved ones again.
